Thank you!
I couldn't get any pictures inside her beak unfortunately, but here's the other pictures:
She has a misshapen pupil, it's been like that since she was a chick and it never seemed to bother her or impair her vision.
And for your questions:
1. She eats and drinks perfectly fine...
Rhode Island Red hen, about two years old. For the past few months she's been very slow moving, unresponsive, sleeping most of the day and losing weight. I believe the problem is her nose/throat area, where the nostrils are completely clogged shut such that barely a wheeze can get in or out at...
i just found my chicken Magnolia dead on the coop floor completely infested with larvae. she was in the spot where they usually lay their eggs, so it might have been an egg laying issue, but it was hard to check for any signs of egg binding and such with all the larvae crawling around.
she came...
our yard is delightfully filled with all kinds of birds. we have 6 chickens and three trees that are always filled with all kinds of fun birds who come fly around and eat the birdseed we put out. ones like stellars jays, robins, bluebirds, chickadees, starlings, and even squirrels like to come...
Thanks, I'll try that! Not sure it will work, since the other chick is totally fine.
Yeah, I've never heard of chickens having seizures either! Very interesting.
So I got two new baby chickens recently (Rhode Island Reds) and they are doing very good. They have grown in most of their feathers and are lively and don't show any typical signs of disease or bugs. They're lively and curious and just all-around happy.
One of them, though, sometimes throws some...

she is around 8 years old, eats mainly Purina layer pellets, and free ranged in a large yard for the day and goes to bed in a 5x4 coop with three other hens.
No sign of any brown spot.
And she is very lovely! :love
My chicken is limping and favoring one of her legs. She is showing no other symptoms of illness or injury. Normal poops, regularly laying eggs, very energetic and perky, good appetite. No cuts or mites or anything on the leg or foot, no swelling or heat. She does not flinch when I touch anywhere...
I'm sorry you all had such terrible experiences with rats, it sounds really awful. Fortunately, the rat ate the poison that was set out and is now gone. The poison trap is still out to catch any others that may be there.
I recently found that a rat has been living in the chicken coop. Is a single rat a serious threat to a flock of chickens? They are fairy large and living directly under the chickens' sleeping area.
If there is any chance of the rat hurting my chickens, I have traps to get rid of them but I...
