I am not sure if there is a problem, but in my case, maybe 6-7 of 10 birds are laying. The others do a copycat imitation of the layers. Might be a bit of both.... It almost seems like its broody before it's even laying (in my case. Maybe even yours?)
I had one go broody 2 weeks into laying...

I think you have all made your point...... Australorp was in my head because when i got it as a 1 week old, that was what I was told it was and it looked pretty correct at the time.......
AND yes, the RIR was not intended for this discussion. I am pretty confident in that one...

I absolutely noticed a positive change. They HOVER around me and almost trap me. 10 birds so tight around my feet I almost step on them any time i move. Funny, they also almost enjoy me petting them as well. Before, they would be a bit skiddish. Much better!!!!
The GLW has a slenderer build, with slight muffs. Not nearly like the araucana, but little puffed out (if that makes any sense). And has dark grey feet/legs.
Will post pics later.... And then we can confirm my ignorance
The SLA looks pretty text-book.... But will see....

So you don't believe me..... I see.
Not on hand. But the SLW and the SLA are dead on per other posts.... Not that that is any more convincing....

So after months of no eggs (24 weeks) we have eggs. Yesterday I got 4 eggs all in the nesting box!!!!
One major source of confusion for me. I did not thin k I had an Easter Egger in the group.
But I got home and find 3 eggs. 2 brown and one green egg. (found One in the morning, alone)
Here...
Exactly!
Get yourself a 2-5 gallon feeder and waterer. i have a 5 gallon bucket with 3 nipples and a 13 # feeder. Fill interval is about 2 weeks. Water has a toilet float inside and set to irrigation system. Fill interval on that is NEVER.... That's if you are into those types of things....like...
Make sure the food you offer (besides the treats) are the same exact type as the previous owner's. They don't like sudden changes in that sometimes as well. Sounds like they are not socialized at all. Just make sure you have food availible all the time (and water) and treats here and there until...

Don't worry about picturing it. Check out the "COOP" Construction page in this forum and you will see many options. I happen to have all 10 of my birds on one 6 foot 2X4 with the longer face vertical. So they stand on the 2-inch part. The top is set about 27" from the floor. See the...

Superchiks, Mine went about 16-18 weeks before they actually roosted off the ground. I have a level bar, 2.5 feet above the flooring. They used to hover by one end or the other until one day they all figured it out. Imagine, 13 birds on one 6 foot 2X4. Back to back to back to...
