Ok everyone, yet again I need help. A neighbors dog raided a goose nest and stole an egg. The dog brought it back unharmed to the neighbor but after searching a while for the nest, he told me he couldn't find it. He brought the egg to me because he knew I had just hatched out some ducks. Long...
It's not purple or blue. It just looks like somebody scratched the inside lining of the egg off. I hope it's still alive.
Bellah, I noticed the marks yesterday I believe, right after my first duck hatched. Should I open one up? I just candled and I really can't see any movement in the three...
Thanks for replying Car. This is my first hatch, so I'm a bit distraught. This is what the several of the eggs look like. The lowest pencil line is where the air cell is and that opaqueness is right below it. I still can't see any movement in the egg. Anybody know what's going on?

Question. I have already hatched one of my Pekin ducks out. The little guy practically catapulted out of his shell yesterday around 1 in the afternoon (2 days early) My other 8 eggs in the incubator have not internally pipped yet. I candled a couple last night and I couldn't see movement inside...
Question. My other 8 eggs in the incubator have not internally pipped yet. I candled a couple last night and I couldn't see movement inside. They have, however, rubbed the membrane off of the inside of the shell right under the air cell. (When I say rubbed off, I mean the shell looks more...
Hey guys! I have a question for ya'll and also need some help. The first image is of tomatoes I put into handmade newspaper pots with organic seed starting material (coir, organic fertilizer, etc) made by Burpee and the second picture is of seeds started in a seed starting kit by Burpee (which...
I know that there are couple of people selling buff chicks on the Birmingham craigslist. I think one is from Hayden and the other is from Cullman. I would search the farm and garden section and see.
Hey Tennessee peeps! Just wanted to share a chicken coop giveaway with you. Hudson Family Farms based out of GA (and near both TN and AL) is giving away a free chicken coop. I've already shared this with my GA and AL people and just thought I'd share it with ya'll too. It might be worth the...
Hello Georgians! I'm from Birmingham, AL but am posting because I saw this chicken coop giveaway on Facebook. Hudson Family Farm is based out of GA and they look like they do some pretty cool stuff. I already let my AL peeps know, so I figured I'd share with ya'll too.
Oh, and brief change of topic, I stumbled on this on Facebook. A farm out of GA (real close to the Alabama state line) is giving away a free coop. I think they'll even drive it to your house for you. It might be worth the "like" on Facebook.
My D'uccles tend to self clean their foot feathers. That being said, I did have a chick that had a feather wrapped around his leg that caused circulation to be cut off in the leg. While they are young, just make sure everything is normal and healthy looking. As far as handling them, D'uccles are...
I think I can manage some room in mine after my ducks hatch out huntinwidow! I can definitely take a few off your hands. Maybe not several dozen though. Chicken math and my family don't really get along for some reason...
