Lol we’re in Australia so it was a decent time here I believe.. she actually only wakes up for a feed or poop a couple times a night! She’s such a quiet and happy baby, we’re absolutely blessed!
Too good! 😂😂😂 She’ll be navigating by the stars before we know it lol
Too good! 😂😂😂 She’ll be navigating by the stars before we know it lol Thanks a ton.. we’re over the moon!
Thanks heaps! You are SO right.. she’s been in my life for five days and has already changed me immeasurably! And I’ve noticed that already, all the stress and problems we THOUGHT we had... borderline laughable. Literally the ONLY thing that I’m worried about is being the best Dad I can to this...
That’s so cool! I wish my Ameraucanas liked to be handled, but I got them all as pullets as well as the Marans. I think I just got them a little too old and they’re set in their ways lol but looking forward to breeding them and raising the chicks by hand in hopes of having a handleable flock...
Guys, she’s HERE!!! Killara Rae Sanchez. Born on January 30th at 12:28 pm. She was 8.322 lbs and 20.472” long. AND, one of the Ameraucana gals gave us her first pullet egg, AND our Muscovy started laying again!! They say good things come in threes, right!?
My Americana’s are the most flighty. But the Marans are SUPER chill! I couldn’t keep them together though because my ‘Cana Roo is a jerk and tried to rip the Marans hen comb off!
Awesome! This will be really helpful, cheers! We do follow 14acres but I’ll have to check on theoliveeggfarm.. DONT think we do.. I’ll get form that! Lol
Thank you! Yeah, that’s totally the plan.. I want to incubate a dozen or two.. get my Marans numbers up to 1:9.. THEN start the olive adventure :D shame patience is my worst attribute lol.. gotta do it right though
I’d recommend them, even as a newb.. they are SO chill. She’s laying consistently, he’s a perfect gentleman. She’s on her fifth egg today and they keep getting more sheen, saturation and brightness.. I can’t wait til I can incubate our Araucanas and hand raise them in hopes of them being less...
Yeah, we plan on doing the bands too. It’s more effective to me then having to remember or log who’s punched or have to catch and find out. AND I don’t have to make my birds uncomfortable, so we’ll definitely go that route! What breeds do you show and raise? I’m really interested in getting into...
The breeder we got them from punches a small hole in all her chickens foot webs that hatch out of her most saturated eggs. She raises them and keeps most but will sell some occasionally. We hit it off so we’ll, she gave us four chickens that came from her deepest blue eggs that she planned on...
Such a sweetheart, Chrissy. Thank you, dear! Arora loves the chooks dearly as well.. but thinks I’m a little cuckoo for being on the forums posting all the time lol always nice to get encouraged for your crazy
She’s trying!! Her first two were a little lighter with really dark speckles. Her third consecutive that she gave today was just darker than the other two with the dark speckling in EVERY pore.. so to me, I’m thinking, maybe she’s wanting to go darker and the colour is dispersing from the...
Thanks, Ted! I’m just replying to everyone and so excited to show you her egg she gave us today! It’s going eGGzactly how you guys said and getting consistently darker.. It’s literally a dream, craziest part.. I flew to Fiji from Cali (camped and driven through 39 states with my grandpa growing...
