I'm going to make my own.
What weight was the tub of frosting?
Do you blend the ingredients before "nuking" ? I assume you mean cooking in a microwave oven (?)
How long do you nuke it for?
I had to look up what vanilla frosting is. I probably shouldn't have because now I'm going to make some and try the peanut butter fudge. Sugar and fat, I'm sure I'm supposed to be keeping an eye on my intake.
Prefered nest change has in the past been a reasonably reliable indicator. One day they just stop laying in their regular nest and head off with their rooster to find a new nest site. This is with ranging hens on acres of ground but Tull, one of the hens at the field did much the same a while...
You are one of the few people I've read here on BYC who write "wants to go broody."
I usually know when a hen wants to sit and hatch long before she does it. I have this theory that a hen intends to sit and hatch from the first egg she lays of the clutch she intends to sit on. To be correct...
I really like the idea; fuel economy is always a good thing in my view. The limitation I found was one is pretty much limited to one pot cooking, unless of course one has more than one rocket stove.
I've been told that some designs are better than others when it comes to what one can use as...
This came out rather well. Chickpeas, spinach, roasted tomatoes a few herbs with toasted hallumi cheese added for the last few minutes of cooking. Got a couple of portions in the freezer, minus the cheese which is easy to add on reheat.
You can get small scale canning equipment. I think it's expensive and I've often thought it a good idea; no freezer using electricity, easy stack and store, extended shelf life. A farm down the track in Catalonia had a small canning plant and that was how they stored much of their pulses and meat.
Do you mean canned or are you writing about glass jars?
If you are canning I would love to see your setup and read some details about cost, ease of use etc.
We have to cover anything started from seed. Jackdaws, pigeons, crows, doves, then all the small wild birds dig the seeds up if there isn't a mesh barrier to stop them. The mesh can come off once the plants are started and established. I had a losing running battle last year trying to grow...
Thanks IM. It's a Dundee cake.
It's my second attempt. The first attempt came out better. This one is bit dry.
I've baked lots of stuff like pies in the past but not cakes. I made the family Christmas cake this year and it came out okay. There's so much crap in the supermarket cakes I decided to...
Pop corn can be a relatively heathy snack, particularly when compared to the packet crisps etc found at the supermarkets.
My pop corn; not so much. I heat it in a pan with plenty of salted butter.:D
