Update: Elmer & Hattie are still doing well together. I haven’t noticed any wear on Hattie's feathers. Elmer seems very devoted to her and she sticks to him like glue. He even sits outside the box when she is laying.
I have a system. My girls with their own roosters free range in the mornings. They pretty much stick with their own flocks and chosen roosters. The bachelors, from two different pens, all free range in the afternoons. They stick together in groups and ignore the other group.

Welcome to BYC. I would start out by putting them out early mornings for a few hours and progressively leaving them longer for a week or so. It takes me a while to acclimate to this humidity every year so I'm sure the birds need to work up to it too.
