I'm afraid I'll have to live vicariously this year. My largest tomato is a skinny stick less than 2 feet tall, peppers are stunted. Beans are producing but the largest is maybe 8 inches tall. Corn tasseled at 2-3 feet.
I think most of it has been caused by saturated clay soil, and the rest by...
One of my boys was a ((Biel x JG) x (JG x BA)). He died a few weeks ago, and unfortunately I can't find any pictures of him. I have a new set of chicks, of which 3 appear to be his, but I noticed that one of the older pullets also has something that looks like messy barring, which would mean he...
I spoke to a young boy maybe 10 years ago? I didn't have a cell phone yet. Never wanted one. He was aghast at the idea. "What do you do when you want to talk to someone?" "I talk to them face to face." The shock and dismay was comical. "You mean you go to their HOUSE?!"
A2 and A1 are different types of protein, found in cows milk. A1 is mostly the protein that people are sensitive to when they have a milk "allergy."
From what you've said, it seems that your problem is more in the area of taste and smell rather than sensitivity to the food itself.
You don't have to be. But find something that will build up the good bacteria. A daily probiotic is a start, but those seldom get past the stomach and it's the intestines that need to be colonized.
If you ever take an antibiotic you'll need to start over, because the antibiotic works very much...
Short form, food poisoning happens because the bad gut bacteria (usually not fungus) out compete the good bacteria. If you don't eat anything to colonize your gut with the good bacteria, when you get the bad guys they take over.
Our modern diet is totally deficient in the good guys, but creates...

If you don't like the idea of eating mold, mildew, etc., never again eat cheese, cultured butter, saurkraut, apple cider vinegar, etc. Anything fermented, probiotic, or cultured. Sourdough is a bit of a different situation (being baked after fermentation) but still. Kambucha, naturally...
I let my birds out at 2 weeks. They go back in their brooder at night just like the older birds go in their coop, until I think they're old enough and shut the door on them.
And they will NOT need heat until the temperatures get into the single digits, and probably not even then. My birds...
In the brooder, no. In the coop, yes. I have several plexi pannels that bring light into the coop, and I noticed holes in one. I need to correct that today. I wouldn't have even noticed, but they were large enough for the chicks to get out into the run and Mom couldn't get to them.
The brooder...
Transitioning chicks to the primary brooder. I normally start free ranging them at 2 weeks, but that's going to have to wait in this case. I'm putting most of the chick stuff away. I'm hopeful that I won't have to use it again.
Mom has her babies up on the roost. Still 3.
I place the rise assist BEFORE I get down. Saves a lot of trouble later.
A few months ago I finally got around to creating my garage bench, exactly at the height of my truck bed so I can just back in and slide stuff off onto the bench--or in the case of chicken feed, the storage is at the other...
40 words per minute was impossible, the way those keys tangled. Using a keyboard I do at least 60 wpm. That thing, it was more like 10.
Funny story. When typewriters were first introduced the letters were in alphabetical order. But as speeds increased typing speeds increased also, resulting in...
Yeah, when I e-mailed to let them know the chicks arrived (at about 6) he said his wife uses the "down time" of dinner to track every package.
I think at this point they're desperate to get these lines into the hands of people who might be willing to maintain them, so they keep their prices...
Sure. Recieved 25 healthy chicks two weeks ago, two doa, so they included extras. When I had questions on my order Glenn got back to me within 24 hours. He's got a full time job on top of all his preservation work, so I wasn't sure I'd get a response at all.
They are very clear that all orders...
A definite possibility, but I check the coop every night before I close up. Any snake large enough to get a chick shouldn't be able to get in after the door is closed. There have certainly been no snakes inside when I open up in the morning.
