    Runner ducks

My flock is all mixed breeds. A lot of people recommend 1-8 I think for a ratio. Personally I'd try to go at least 1-4 so that the hens can get a break from being chased if he is a particularly randy male in the spring.

    Runner ducks

Color doesn't matter, bur you'll want more than just 2 females most likely for your boy.

    I Didn't Order a Kitten!

Nope. The birds make livetraps too much of a hassle

    Is my rooster aggressive?

It could be different, I don't really know. Some of mine do it to announce when they see me, but they don't generally crow in my face unless I'm holding them

    Is my rooster aggressive?

Some people claim crowing or breeding in front of people is a warning sign, but I have both happen daily in front of me and my boys are some of the nicest, most polite males. The side eye is more what I'd be paying attention too, since that means he's actively watching you and not ignoring you

    I Didn't Order a Kitten!

The CDS is how I got my barn kitty, Princess. Slowly working on the other feral kitty, Jack Sparrow (Jack for short), but he's so terrified of people you can't even see him fully before he's bolted for the next several weeks.

    Guineas- What the hell!!

They imprinted on the chickens and see them as other guineas. That's why it's recommended to raise and brood separately

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Princess didn't look like she got bit this morning, so that was good. Feel bad about killing the snake when it wasn't the aggressor, but I couldn't get the cat away while it was still active

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Selling a few ducks tomorrow hopefully. Planning on the 2 mixed ducklings, and a group of runners. Killed a baby rattler last night. Princess does not seem to realize that snakes are not something to play with. Hoping she didn't get bit before I got to her. Itty bitty thing, barely even had...

(I was wrong!!)Pretty disgusted with Murray McMurray Hatchery

Through pictures, sure. But on property visits are just begging to wreak havoc on biosecurity

Are female call ducks louder than the larger female breed ducks?

Mine is pretty similar, just higher pitched

    Would you…

Yeah, they don't taste like the actual candy, but it's good enough

    LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I use ones from a few sellers on YouTube, but I think any would be okay for basic shirts.

Have you handwashed with a bar of scented soap? I do that with Tshirts occasionally. Using those scent beads also help

    Separate flocks coexisting

Honestly, it can go either way. Sometimes the male's get along, especially if dominance is established early on, sometimes it goes sour

    Trespassers and ducklings...

Not usually, most will either ignore them or actively go after them
