Nothing wrong with needing a break. As long as your staff is running the gallery and doing a good job, that will give you some time to reflect and see how the Lord is leading you. You could still be ministering to the folks who come to your B&B, if nothing else but by letting the Lord's Light...
I said I have two rhode island reds but actually I have one RIR and one production red. They look almost alike but my production red ( Hoppy is her name) is much friendlier than the RIR. What is the difference in the two? I never knew for sure.
The first chicks I had were from a fiend 2 turned out to be male and 2 female. They did fine for a long time them all of a sudden (after they got spurs) the both jumped on my hen called Cookie while she was in her nesting container and tore out a ton of feathers and had cut her up. Had to...
I would have one because I have too many roosters for the number of hens I have. I like the roosters, they are pretty and intersting to watch and as long as they aren't mean to me, I would like to keep them.
2 Rhode Island Red hens
2 buff Cochin bantams ( 1 roo and 1 hen)
2 barred rock hens
1 Americauna hen
1 Black Copper Marans hen
2 Splash olive egger's (that is how they were listed) 1 roo (my avatar) and 1 hen
1 Black Polish hen had 2 roos but hey did not like me at all so they were...

Did they grow up together? I have two roosters who grew up together and they get along fine. I HAD two polish roosters that grew up together and they got along but they did not like me so I re-homed them. I have 3 other roosters but I have not tried to put them together yet. My hope is that...
No, the first eggs I put under her were 2 the first day, 1 second day and 2 the 3rd day. Then my other broody hen quit sitting on her eggs after 2 of her chicks hatched. So I grabbed the rest of her eggs and put them under Tangie. Tangie is a good mom. I marked the eggs so I would know...
Thanks so much for that info. I will give it a try. The incubator said to leave it on for 8 hours before putting the eggs in. I don't think I should wait that long. It seems to be working fine so far. It has been 6 hours.
I hope someone can help me with this. My broody hatched 5 but still has 5 eggs left. It is day 22 and she has quit sitting on the eggs. I know that some are still alive. I bought an incubator today but not sure how to do it at this late stage. I am thinking that there is no turning, but not...
