So true what he is going through.
My brother came out to visit this summer for the first time since covid. The look on his face when he seen me was almost funny. He blurted out I looked so much older. I told him he looked younger lol. I don't think he understood until then.
The coyote, 'wild E' after the roadrunner cartoon, or more often called Willie, was definitely not a dog. Wouldn't come when called after training for over a year. He was quite amused to play can't catch me.
I found him jumping at the base of the waterbed one day. He had bit it over 20 times and...
Short story is Stupidity on a walk 😂
I was walking my st Bernard one gloomy good Friday in the woods. He was squeaking something and it turned out to be a puppy with the umbilical cord attached still. There was a bunch of them under a gooseberry Bush.
I thought they were stray dog puppies...
We have coyotes that have bred with wolves and/or dogs according to DNA.
They are 2x the size of a coyote. I have seen a couple that are with a regular size coyote.
They get several of my turkeys each year, the last 3 years.
I used to have a pet coyote back in the 90s but I didn't have...
I ended up making a small door in the wire when the goofy poults were doing this every year.

My pullet last year was killed in a 150ft x 600ft run. I wouldn't have known what happened to her but the mink was trying to pull her through the fence. Stupid turkeys just watching. The field fence wiggling and turkeys staring is what caught my attention. Way back of the poultry yard 100ft...

Grandparents had a cistern with a hand pump and the creek had a spring. There was a spot in the spring set up to use as a refrigerator
The springs went dry back in the 70s and the creek is now seasonal. Uncles 60ft well dug in the 40s went dry then too. Well is now 250 ft. A bit far for a hand...
I learned as a kid to keep supplies, including jugs of water. ( Came in handy with covid.) We too had a few snowstorms with no power, on a well. Roads were blocked for a week in 67 and several frontend loaders got stuck. They kept sending bigger ones 😂
Yes I think it might be genetic.
I am breeding for 6 lbs dressed cockerel at 16 wks
The rooster that just died was probably larger than that at 16 wks.
The ones that were from a lavender old English orphington rooster were much slower growing and didn't get to that size. I only have 2 hens left...
