pips&peeps :
I think that is an ee roo, not a splash wheaten.
I know he's not great but heres a link to another Splash from an ABC member. http://www.signaturefeathers.com/wheaten/wheaten.html
I the picture posed show his hackel feathers as a blond color but when i went out a little while ago...
Heres my young Black, thinks shes a pullet (fingers Crossed)
My Splash Wheaton Roo. His comb is terible, but all I can find around here to breed my Wheaton Hen
I don't have a real hard time keeping my Whites White............But when it comes show time you cant just wipe them off and go they need a full bath head to toe.
I will try and get some of them free ranging the yard
Cat food is fine for yor birds.......Woldn't feed it to them as a sole ration, but like somone above stated it sure helps them pull through the molt with the extra protien.
I was there as well, and those bird were very nice.............The birds belonged to Baker and Goodfellow, they always have top notch birds. I picked the the big Black Pullet to win the Breed, and it was well deserved when Paul Kroll gave it Best AOSB.
I hope my birds will look like his when...
They do have ties back to the original Qubec strain. And yes there is a bit of a dark smudge on their backs. It goes away very quickly but just wondering what causes it.
Just wanted to post updated pictures of our breeding stock. I have seperated them now until after the show season.
And heres a little one who thinks he's an Ameraucana lol
Here are my only 2 Ameraucanas. I think the Lavender is a Roo. Comb is bright red already. Much redder then the Weaton. What everyone think of them?? Nosey Chatecler sneaking into the picture.
Yeah needs a little more size. Remember they have Cochin in them so they should be Breasty.
This is my guy about the same age as yours accoring to the spurs.
