Will the blue slates stay close to home? How big are they when hatched? I am considering the same, just as pets & want the best for a West MI climate, winter being cold & windy here along the big lake. Can you raise the poults in a huge horse water tank & for how long? Thanks!!

I have read that the KitchenAid 12 cup was a very high rating & that most liked it best over all. I am glad to see this post because I have been trying for the past 6 months to figure out which one to get...hehe
Plus I was just looking at the Cuisinart just this last week at Kohls...
Thanks for the advise!
I guess it will just take time. I put them in a smaller dog pen type area & when I go in they cram to the back

Hi
I have a snowy mallard male & female. They are so sweet! They love to hang out with me & follow me. They are bantams. Very nice looking ducks. They are so funny too. They have a very nice & silly personality. I havent had them for winter yet so I can't answer that question but since...
I have 3 Pekins & 3 Rouen females. They are terrified of me. What can I do to make them more comfortable around me. When I come to the pen they crowd in the back corner in a huge pile & they just shake. I feel so bad....I want them to like me. Should I be picking them up & carrying them...
I have some golden sebrights that I picked up at TSC a month or so back. I read in my book that they should have rose combs. Well one has the rose comb, but the majority of them have a regular single comb. Is this acceptable or not? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I buy a lot of frozen peas, they LOVE them! I pour some into their water & they stay fresh until they eat them up. They also LOVE kale. I mix the duck crumbles with dry oatmeal & an Amish horse grain. They love the mixture. My 2 ducks are about 10 weeks old.
