So she just pooped. Bile, urates and water only. Overnight poop was the same. She's not eating solid food and the only liquid she gets is what I syringe her. I'm sad
200mg tablets of calcium citrate +D3 once in the mornings. I haven't been out to dose her yet this morning. She's also getting 1.5ml of nutri-drench twice a day. I wasn't home to encourage her to eat yesterday and it only looks like she picked at a scrambled egg and moistened feed pellets. I'll...
I understand. I'm starting to think that too. This really sucks. I keep thinking she has a defective shell gland because maybe she started laying too early. She was first to lay and did start at about 5 months. Lately, they were becoming soft shelled again. Then this one. So I think she has an...
I did everything you said to do and she's still not getting any better. I have to syringe the calcium, nutri-drench and water two times a day. Shes really not eating any solid foods. That egg yolk was alarming. Rubbery, not liquid. And that's the day she started looking ill too. She's 10 months old.
Strange egg. Albumen normal but the yolk was misshapen and solid right out of the shell. I've never seen anything like this before. Could this be the begining of a lash egg? The hen that laid that egg is sick now too. She's not eating or drinking and lethargic. She got a nice long Epsom salt...
Thank you for the response. I will try the calcium citrate with vit D tabs starting tomorrow. How do I administer it? She ate an egg in the morning with a few feed pellets then 2/3 of an egg in the late afternoon with a few more moist pellets. I don't think she drank much water today. I put a...

I noticed, when I got home from work yesterday late afternoon, that one of my hens looked sick. She was on her own, pecking at food but not really eating. Her comb is starting to look pale now too. She was standing around, closing her eyes. Same thing this morning. Her shells the past 2 days...

Yes. I have 2 docile hens and 1 docile rooster left. These hens don't lay many eggs in comparison. I do plan to get less vigorous layers in the Spring. I never want to go though this again. I can't get that order out of my nose. I feel queazy today....
Interesting about the crop. I realized after I wrapped her up and laid her in a few paper bags, that there was a foul oder coming from the chair that I had just laid her in prior to her heart attack. She vomited up some awful smelling vial. Same odor as what was coming out her vent. I do have...
Thank you. She just past away. Vigorous flapping of wing let out nasty bowl movement. Probably heart attack at the end. I'm going to clean her up a bit and give her a proper burial. So so sad!! This was a very hard couple of days.
Thank you. She is dying I have her in my lap right now. She's lame and shallow breathing. Her poop smelled like death this morning and she is in a deep sleep now. I'm so incredibly sad. Shes been such a great hen. 😢
Hennifer is very weak. Her droppings look yellowish with a black cecal poop fom the flock block, I'm sure. I now think she has a bad infection and I stopped the corid. Trying some electrolights and vitamin water. So far no drinking. Her discharge went from barely any smell to smelling something...
Surprisingly, no messy bottom but it will be by morning because she is lying on the floor now. I will get a picture of her for you in the morning. I do have epsom salts. Are the calcium tabs sold at tractor supply?
No waddling. I felt no egg. Shes an Easter egger. She got her mom's leghorn gene when it comes to egg laying. She lays a lot of eggs but the last one she laid, I think, may have broken inside of her. I found a crumbled shell under the roost and some yolk in the egg box plus some watery poo in...
Shes 2 1/2 years old. Yes her abdomen felt soft but not enlarged. Shes unable to roost now so shes lying down on the floor of the kennel. Very weak. The other chickens seem to be behaving normally. I'm watching them very closely.
