    cackling or crowing

    I would like to know. Some cities say you cant have a roo in town. But I have had hens that cackled louder than any roo. How do you keep them quiet. Dont make sense. Ha

    I am looking at them for a cold weather bird. I heard someone talking the other day about that they wernt much for laying. Anybody know? Course some people may not feed the right stuff to get them to lay. Dont know.

    Egg production down lately.

    My chickens layed fairly good this last winter as I had a heat light on them 24/7. But now I am down to 3 eggs out of 15 hens. They are running out so they have all they want to eat. Is everybodys egg laying down or not? Bewildered and hungry. Thanks
