Hi all,
My chickens comb looks really dry. It’s been like this for months. The whole flock has recently been treated for mites, lice & worms & it hasn’t changed.
Also- what sort of comb is it?
Help! My daughter found these small white bugs crawling on our eggs in the coop. The egg was cold when she brought it in. I checked the coop & I can see the tiny & slow moving bugs. Are these mites? If so- what type? If not, are they a different type of pest?
Hi all, this is a video I filmed of a noise that my chicken makes. It’s been so hard to capture.
Could you please watch the video & tell me why my chicken is making this noise & what sickness it is?
Hello chicken lovers!
This beauty is a rescue. What breeds do you think she is? What type of comb does she have? She has slate & pink feet.
I was given no information regarding breed but they thought Sussex mix. I was told she is almost 10 weeks.
So I did what any chicken lover easily falls victim to- I took the kids to an interactive farm experience, and came home with a chick for me 👍🏽She’s incredibly calm which is why I fell in love.
The farmer couldn’t be clear on the breed as it was a rescue but she suspected light sussex & maybe...
Hi all,
I have 5x 4 week old chicks.
I noticed 1 chick had its eye closed & when I opened it it looked slightly pink. The next day it looked fine but another chick had its eye closed. That chick looks fine today, but another chick now has 1 pink eye. They are all eating heaps!
For context-...
This is Chickaletta. Chickaletta has been observed chest bumping a few times & is getting pecked by other chicks (has been separated to prevent injury).
He is 22 days hatched in these photos. What sex do you think Chickaletta is?
Hello all,
Having trouble locating threads on this topic.
I have a beautifully calm & docile barnevelder chick. From the day she hatched she has enjoyed being held and loves snuggles. She’s incredibly relaxed to the point where sometimes I’m concerned that she’s sick. Her weight & growth is...
I have two barred/Plymouth rock chicks. I got them as day olds. I have attached pictures of them at 6 days & also at 2 days old (group photo). They’re a bit older than this now. Let me know what you suspect.
Hi there,
i want to know your experience in raising barnevelders and Plymouth rocks and which you prefer? Bonus points if you’ve had both to compare!
We are After a friendly breed that loves attention. Though- I do understand that each chicken has their own personality.
Our 2 month old bantam Australorp has a feather issue- they look like they’ve been nibbled at?
What’s causing this? Is this a rat eating her feathers? Is it another chicken?
Hello brains trust, I need some help. The order they appear below, is the order that I’ve had them:
I have 2x 8 week old polish. 1 male, 1 female
I have 1x pekin 5 week cockerel
1x 8 week old bantam australorp pullet
1x16 week Ancona pullet
Ancona & australorp came home on the same day but...
Hi there,
My young polish was taking a dust bath and trilling really loudly. Seemed oblivious to the world around it and had a chicken audience.
My question is- do cockerels trill and do this behaviour too? We’ve been trying to determine if male/female
Hi all, below are pictures of our 3 week old pekin. I really hope she is a she because she is friendly and snuggly. I have been worried because she runs and jumps into the face of the boss chick. The boss chick then stands tall over her. Please let me know your thoughts
Hi everyone. I am raising 2 Polish chickens and and 1 pekin bantam. The white polish is the biggest and purposefully stands tall over the other chicks. She also is always on the look out. I suspect it is a boy. Please let me know what you think. He is 5 weeks old today.
