Laced is coming in spring, along with a Columbian and a Crele. I'd like to find a lemon cuckoo also.
This Rooster thing would pretty much just be for me. My girls have their own yard, and I would like to keep only one rooster, but not mess the genetics up too bad if I let a few eggs hatch...
Ok, I have an odd question. If I could only use one color rooster with my girls - what color would he be?
My girls are: chocolate, lavender, chocolate cuckoo, chocolate mauve, blue splash and isabel.
I heard my 5 month old blue roo start up this morning for the first time. I'm not sure if he's staying or going yet, as we're not supposed to have roosters in our particular area....
I'm glad yours out grew it. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him...I've picked him up and inspected him head to toe...no swell, no warmth, no bumble foot...hearty appetite (omg).... So maybe since he's not growing as fast now, perhaps he'll feel better too. 👍
I have a question for you all... I have a 5 month old blue rooster, who has grown very fast... and he sits a lot. He walks like his joints hurt... or he is suffering from growing pains. He eats with the rest of the girls and is eating layena crumbles. Has anyone had an eng. orp cockerel grow...
Orps it is then, although I love the black and white of the light brahmas too. I have Sebastopol geese, and want a big, friendly breed chickens too. The hens (probably only 3) will get a revised duck house that is not in use any more. Totally cleaned, dusted with DE... we just need to put...
Hi,
I'd like to add to my flock, either some Brahmas or Orpingtons - but am having trouble deciding what will handle the weather better.
In the Kansas City area, we get a lot of rain in the spring (which amounts to copious amounts of mud) and we recently have been getting more snow than we...
Looking to add a goose to my ducks too. They have a third of our back yard for their grazing pleasure, but this year 3 red-tails have moved in about a hundred yards away. Two parents, with their kid from last year. So it's been suggested to either get a decoy owl (and move it around often)...
I guess there's always that idea of making a safety hole in the end with the air cell too... but I never know about losing too much moisture... but he'd be able to breathe.... Just an idea tho.
