Solid walls for run to hide chickens from neighbors

A word of warning...I have the exact same situation. CC&Rs say no poultry or fowl. No HOA in over 20 years so we are governed by county zoning, which allows chickens, even a rooster. BUT ONE neighbor objected (just one) and threatened to take us to court. THAT'S how CC&Rs are enforced in the...

No HOA but there are CC&Rs

I am going through EXACTLY the same thing here in rural Arizona. Our CC&Rs were put in 25 years ago and there hasn't been an HOA for over 20 years. But there are no poultry or fowl allowed and I have a neighbor over an acre away that has sent me a Demand Letter threatening to sue. From what I...

    Whey Protein for chickens?

I just found this and was wondering the same thing. I have two large containers of whey protein that I bought for myself, but I no longer eat it on the program I'm on. Mine is sweetened with Stevia, which should be fine for the chickens (fine for us!). I'm thinking I'm going to try it and see.

Thanks! That gives me something to go on at least. I can look them up and compare. Wow, a farm. What are you growing? I'm just trying to grow our food...fresher, organic, better. How many chickens do you have and what kinds? My daughter lives in Elmhurst, near Chicago...

    City Girl Chicken Mama

I grew up in Queens, NY, then moved up to the "country" in CT. Never had time for chickens then. Now we live in Prescott, AZ, and just got our first chickens, 5 9 month old hens, on Saturday. They're doing great! I have some questions though...two breeds I'm not sure of what they are. I have a...
