Don't they climb? Mine hang from a tree branch and a bear would climb right up the tree to get them. I haven't had any more trouble since I started bringing them in every evening but it's a pain in the butt.
I'm so unitary and angry this morning. I lost pretty much all of my feeders last night. We had a bear come and destroy them all. My huge, 48" finch tube was broken in to 3 pieces, my big metal one that holds BOSS and 4 suet cakes was ripped apart, twisted and found scattered from where it was...
I ran out of BOSS and Nyjer seed about 2 weeks ago and my feeders ended up running empty. I finally went out and got more yesterday and 4 suet cakes and put my hummingbird feeder out for the season. I'm still waiting on them all to realize that the banquet is back out there. DH saw a pileated...
I only have 2 geese. My husband would kill me if I ever got more! But they don't like him like they like me lol. I started out the same way @ChickenMama6RIR . They called out to me at the feed store and I couldn't resist! I ended up with 2 ganders... they were the sweetest! Lollipop was our...
Oh and by the way, there's a swap tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 5th) from 9-1 at Tyrone Milling if anyone is nearby :) I will be there with a bunch of olive egger/ easter egger chicks, black copper Marans chicks and hen saddles.
My turkey pen is a swamp at the moment and the chicken coop is mucky but we're all good up here. We did have some crazy flooding at work though. Glendale Lake is 4' above normal level...
I've recently cut back my flock dramatically. I went from around 30 chickens to 15 and 11 turkeys to 7...
Good afternoon pond! It's week two of me being back to work and it's going to be a crazy season I think! On day one, halfway through the day, we had a water main break. They searched all over the place to find the leak but when they went out on the boat, they found the leak in the middle of the...
Red-wings are rare at my feeders but they're everywhere at the lake. I think I'm too tucked down in the woods.
My irises are a couple inches out of the ground but nowhere near blooming yet. I haven't checked on the daffodils yet.
