Hi all! I am wanting to breed multiple chicken breeds in the future but want to keep them all pure bred.
I’d love to see your breeding coops/pens and how you manage keeping your breeds apart.
So got my eggs in the incubator. I’m wad struggling to keep the humidity at 40-50. It wanted to sit at 70% with water in the bottom so I put in just a tiny bit of water in a cup but it then sat at 20%. So I put in a wet cloth and That’s working very well. I’ll keep everyone posted
Yeah I defiantly will. I should get them this morning. I’ll let them sit until tomorrow morning But I usually get to excited to wait the full 24 hours and set them a bit earlier.
I’ve found friend that has one of these. I think she has had a very good hatch rate using it. She doesn’t use it anymore so I’m borrowing if for a test hatch so I’ll see how it goes. And if it’s good I possibly might buy it off her and that’ll save me from risking buying a dodgy one.
If it...
Thanks for the help! I’m leaning more to getting one now. They are like 1/4 if the price of any other incubator I can find!and I don’t hatch very often so don’t really want to buy an expensive bator that I hardly use.
Oh really? I didn’t know that! I should do it the normal way then cos we are pretty dry around my area.
Do you mind showing me some photos of your set up? If you have it set up still.
Yeah ok! Sounds like you’ve had an alright experience with them.
I prefer to do the dry method with incubating. Do you reckon keeping up moisture all the way through and not doing the dry method is better for the cheap incubators?
Yeah ok. I have been looking at those incubators you recommend but just want something for a low price might have to just bite the bullet and get a expesive one :/
How’s it going?
I was thinking of getting one of these bators but if they are just cheap and nasty I’ll save my money and get something more pricy and worth the money
