I fed Orijen Six Fish cat food over the winter as a treat. They liked it and it did help. I just believe in sticking to fish-based foods if you do it. Seemed more natural for a duck to me. You could also try dried mealworms to increase protein, but they aren't much cheaper.

I'd say that sounds pretty normal to me. Any time I go to check on mine at night, they're snuggled up in the corner together. It just seems to be their favorite place. Sleeping in corners or along walls makes them feel safer I guess.
