If I remember correctly I could tell the difference at 4 weeks, but when I got them at 3 days old I couldn't tell at all if it wasn't for the banded feet from the person who sexed them. One female had a head almost as dark as the male, which was will pretty light, at a few weeks old too.
I have a heat lamp that is pointed mostly away from them but still on to provide a little heat and the lid is off the brooder now. I don't have a thermometer in the brooder, but the house is kept at 78-79 during the day, so I imagine mid 80s in the brooder.
