    Super skinny RIR

I’ve done all that. She’s simply declining. I’m working on helping her since spring. I’m pretty sure she hasn’t laid an egg for months. Ive given all the things you mentioned. Some other member suggested the milk and bread plus scrambled eggs. I give her that extra. She also gets her regular food.

    Super skinny RIR

Ive posted a different thread about this hen. She has vent gleet on and off. Currently more on. I’ve tried all methods listed in different articles here but to no avail. I’ve dewormed her too. She’s now less than 3 pounds and her breast bone has nothing on it anymore. Please let me know how...

I put her in a dog crate with milk and bread this morning and she practically ate it all. Then I put her back with the rest.

The poor thing only weighs 3.5 pounds. I started deworming tonight. I might tube feed her?

When can you start incubating eggs after the hen starts laying?

I hope I ask this correctly. I understand that it's not good to hatch out eggs from a hen that just starts laying. I've heard to wait until the eggs are 50 gram or the usual weight for the breed of the hen. What's your experience? How long do you wait until you hatch out eggs from a new hen?

    Low weight after vent gleet

Good points. I do live in a very dry high desert climate. They just get some in the morning but the rest of the day they either freeze range and/or have unlimited access to regular dry crumbles.

No I have not wormed her. I’ve never seen worms. But I can do that for sure. What would you recommend? I have poor over ivermectin and some other things I can’t remember now.

    Low weight after vent gleet

I have been given her anti fungal, medistati. I put anti fungal cream on her vent too. She had a acidified copper cure but it always comes back. My chickens get fermented feed in the morning as well. This hen seems to struggle. She does eat well but her weight stays the same. Her comb is also...

    Low weight after vent gleet

l guess to get optimal results I would separate her right? I’ve separated her during treatments and she seems to eat less if I do.

    Low weight after vent gleet

I have a hen that gets mild vent gleet on and off. I always treat her as soon as I see her feathers being dirty. But over time she lost a lot of weight. What would be a good method to fatten her up? I hope I can give her some strength to get through the coming winter. She’s 2 years old.

Acidified copper sulfate for vent gelet?

I had 2 hens with mild vent vleet. I treated both with medistatin. One had it cleared right up but the other seems to keep having it. I have acidified copper for in the water but I thought it’s more for canker. Any of you have experience with vent fleet and acidified copper sulfate?

    2 day old Brahma chick.

Thank you! I have both saline solution and terramycin. I have gel though, not drops. The chick also seems to lose its balance. Probably because of the eye sight. And it’s way smaller than the others.

Thanks. I will definitely do the vitamins. I don’t know about the toxins. My flock free ranges here for years and this is new to me.

Leg seeming to not support bodyweight

Vitamin B deficiency maybe. Nutri-drench added to water fixed it for me. Maybe a drop of selenium
