Our Jumbo Pekin, Milo, layed her very first egg today! I found it as I was getting her into her enclosure for the night, apparently we had missed it when we took her out this morning. It was a super exciting moment! We still don’t know what we’re going to do with them yet lol. 😄
At most tractor supply stores they sell poultry grower which is a fattening, high protien, feed that most people use when they intend on raising their poultry for meat. This may help with weight gain, but I'm not 100% if this is the best/safest option but you can ask the employees at the shop or...
I'm having trouble finding duck farms online in my Area which is Iowa City, IA. So I thought I'd make a post on here as well. I am looking for Silver Appleyards, Welsh Harlequins, and Buffs. Or the name/website of any duck breeders/farms in Iowa. :D
I'm actually really happy to hear that yours gets along with a Welsh Harlequin because that breed was one that I was really looking into!(:
Thank you so much!
So our lovely female Jumbo Pekin, Milo is getting 1 or 2 companions in the next couple weeks and I'm having trouble finding anything on the internet about which breeds they get along with. I've heard that if you introduce them as ducklings that they are more likely to get along, but Milo is...
oh my gosh that's so heart breaking, I hope someone is able to catch it soon before something bad happens to it :( If I were closer I would be there by the end of the day.
I've heard about people having a lot of health problems with their Jumbo's, but mine is in perfect health and she is definitely a cutie and so fun to have around!(:

Milo is an only duck for now, but she has one sibling coming soon and tons more this spring! Me and my husband just got our first one a bit early before we were fully educated. But since then, I have read all of the sticky topics! Thank you! and you didn't come off nosy at all! I'm very glad to...
I just started my own duck journey less than 6 months ago! It started with one 'little' Jumbo Pekin duckling named Milo. Now my husband and I have plans to start a large duck farm by the spring, for eggs and just because I love ducks so much!:love
Here are a few of my favorite photos of our 4...
We just moved and are ordering one online, it should be here by the end of next week. It is a small house with an opening for a door that we are going to make a closable door for, and are going to attach a run to it with mesh wire and 2x4's. The vent is on top right below the roof. With wind...
