But to answer your question, wipe them off as best you can with a dry cloth. I’ve hatched some pretty disgusting eggs in the past.
I have experienced this before but they seem to be taking it to a new level. It’s been way more than a few weeks. They look happy and talk to me every time I go visit them. Maybe the move and then rolling into winter shut them down hard.

This is my trusted rooster guy, not some wacko stranger. He says these roosters are existing together in the same pen, so we gonna try it out. I have never had good luck with 2 roos in a pen.
