    The Wally-Gee Bee Journey 🐝

Saturday, I opened my hives for the first time this year. It was a quick inspection. This was a mild winter so they didn’t eat much of the fall honey from last year. That or they have backfilled from the brood box. Who knows? There’s lots of honey. I put another layer of drawn comb on top of...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

My timing was horrible. I should have refreshed before trying to be cute. But to answer your question, wipe them off as best you can with a dry cloth. I’ve hatched some pretty disgusting eggs in the past.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I have experienced this before but they seem to be taking it to a new level. It’s been way more than a few weeks. They look happy and talk to me every time I go visit them. Maybe the move and then rolling into winter shut them down hard.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

In chicken talk, I decided not to hatch this year since I will be mostly absent just like last year. My wife dealt with all of it for the most part. It’s not her hobby, it’s mine, so if any chicks hatch it will be from a broody OEGB. By the way, they haven’t laid a single egg since I got them...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

LOL!!! I haven’t had Maxwell House since I was a kid. Everyone seems to go to Folgers to save money but I don’t skimp on coffee. Community or Gevalia if I’m buying.

Folgers comes from what they sweep up from the bathroom floors in other coffee factories.

It’s so cute that you think I know🤣. They are supposed to be silver and fawn duckwing. If they’re not, I would never know.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

This is my trusted rooster guy, not some wacko stranger. He says these roosters are existing together in the same pen, so we gonna try it out. I have never had good luck with 2 roos in a pen.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I hatched some BC eggs that were in the fridge. That was a few years ago. Those chickens are all gone. In other news… I should be getting 8 OEGBs this weekend. 2 roos, 6 hens. I wasn’t expecting them this soon but hey, gotta snatch em up when they jump in front of ya!
