thanks for helping, this post of 1/8 teaspoon per gallon is for respiratory, I am looking for solution for general cleaning of coop with unactivated oxine. Oxine site really does not say point blank what solution should be. It does for activated solution. It’s says unactivated can be used but...
i keep coming back to this post to try and figure out mixing ratio for oxine and water for spraying the coop. I have read shagbarkbantams page about her process, but she does not give her ratios for fogging coop that she does weekly. Even looked at all her linked blogs posts on this.
‘’how much...
I mixed this up #10 1.28 oz in gallon and am spraying run, yard coop right now.
After that I will move onto birds, I have 1 extra small backup coop and run, so I treated that first, will move bird there after they are dry the treat the big coop and run.
Thank you
I have a second coop and run for breeding, so I just sprayed that area with permethrin 10. 1.28 ounces in a gallon. I plan to treat birds put them in garage to dry and work on the main coop.
@aart
Ok update, I just went out and picked up 2 more of my birds, they too have exploded with mites, they are tiny red and crawling on them in day time. Our temps went up to 60 degrees yesterday. Last week 50 below. Normally this is our coldest time of year, way below freezing.
I had read 3...
Its middle of winter here, below 50 last week, 60 degree today.
We are about to go out of town any minute, I am working against the clock here
Need to do something right now... Baby is coming
Thank you, given my situation and whats going on in this emergency situation.
I am going to use my 10 to spray the coop for today, dust my quarantined bird with active mites with with my gardstar poultry dust (Permethrin) and hope this does not kill her from overdose of chemicals.
Then when we...
Again why the 13.3 and not the 10. I have 10 here on hand.
To say I am running out of time would be an understatement, my car is half packed. I can't put the baby on hold.
:)
Thank you again
Why this and not the 10?
Have you used this?
Are you saying use this for both birds and coop?
If so can you give me the dosage?
Sorry I get beyond confussed trying to read these labels ADHD and Dyslexia
Thank you
Liseann
Thank you, I am 99% sure these are the red mites, I have treated NFM in the past with elector PSP and had success. I am afraid to spray birds in extreme cold.
I lost a bird in late fall early winter. I think in the end it was mites, I sent samples off to be tested and the only thing that came...
Thank you so much! I have both Elector and Permethrin, I used Elector before so I am going to switch it up and try my Permethrin. My birds are all small, I will weigh them so I am sure about dosage. I read .25 ml for bantams. I am going to use something on her, and wait for the rest of the birds...

cavemanrich I have a generator, but what happens if the power goes out and I am away for the day. Is there something I can buy that I leave my incubator plugged into, so if the power goes out I have automatic battery power source?
Buy something like this...
Thank you, mine are in enclosed chicken run/pen. I check them to make sure they are always working. Silkies are struggling but I read they may have hard time seeing nipples with fluff. I have heated bases now. Had to do something they were going down hill. So much better now 😉
I understand that, easy first. This winter I switched over to only the nipples waters. So it’s been months now.
I had the premier always available along with the gravity waters. The nipple premier was/is a backup water source. I suffer from debilitating migraines, having a backup water source...
The premier nipple water has been in there run for 1.5 years. I will try adding the vacuum release. These are my pets and I am back in the coop and run with them multiple times a day, even in below zero Temps. I am willing to do whatever they need. Last winter I used rubber bowls and removed ice...
I love this idea, just bought heated base and double wall metal waterer and it’s so hard to fill without getting water everywhere. i looked at dog bowl, going to switch to your idea
