    Whose eggs are these?

The potential culprits are: A Wyandotte 2 Naked Necks A Polish An Araucana A Marans A Sussex A Barnevelder Clue: these were all collected the same day. Who is and who isn't laying? PS I know one little madam who didn't produce and one who definitely did.

Reminds me of when Geralt trained Ciri to be a witcher!

Pinless Peepers won't stay on! She kicks it off & shakes it off.

This sounds like the perfect solution for you, her and the flock. You can visit her. She will be happy to be in a flock where she can settle and know her place (chickens need this big time), she won't have to be isolated or wear plastic on her face, she will get some boyfriends, and ultimately...

    Rooster attacking broody hen

Roosters tend to leave chicks alone. Her behaviour will also change once she has babies to protect.

    What's on your wish list?

Oh do post some pics! I only keep bantams these days. I'd love to get some more Polish. My last old girl is about 7 now I think. And I NEED some Silver Sussex and Pencilled Wyandotte. And perhaps a Swedish Flower Hen and a Deathlayer. And I've never had an Australorp so would like one one...

HEY! Whats a boy doing in our flock? Now what?

Chickens tend to sort themselves out and I wouldn't get too het up about a bit of argy bargy, so long as nobody is actually being injured. The odd fisticuffs to establish flock position is normal, and this young whippersnapper will test boundaries and bit a bit of a teenage A-hole for a period...

When to release mama hen and chicks back into the flock?

I like to wait until the chicks are about 2 weeks old ish. When they can run, fly and hide like ninjas and aren't so vulnerable. It ensures a better survival rate from older hens telling them off.

HEY! Whats a boy doing in our flock? Now what?

So you have 2 hens, 2 pullets and a cockerel. Sounds like a perfect ratio to me. If you aren't prohibited from keeping a rooster then keep him as part of your flock. Separating him gains nothing except a very unhappy lonely cockerel. His little group is his family and unless something happens to...

    What's on your wish list?

Ahhh, sebrights! I had a little sebright girl. Plucky little thing she was. In a mixed flock, I reckon you could have one or two just for the eye candy and let the other hens be the main egg producers 😉

    What's on your wish list?

I guess you are limited in what you can get without being posted to you, due to where you are. It's a risk with shipped eggs but I tend to take a punt anyway if it's something I want. I've not tried either of those breeds. I wonder if you've tried Araucanas? They are pretty, good foragers...

    What's on your wish list?

Oh, I strongly believe that experience is the best teacher. Seconded only by other people's experiences. Hence why this forum is so helpful! Silkies are lovely. I kept them for years. Exceptional mothering skills. Tip: trim the crest so they can see. Cute isn't always practical. 😁

    What's on your wish list?

Sounds like you've got a fantastically varied flock - I love that! I have two Transylvanian Naked Neck bantams and they are super cute. Not like the large Turkens you have. Ive just hatched one of their babies too. Have you thought about using broody hens in the future to hatch and raise...

    What's on your wish list?

I've hatched, raised, kept and bred many different breeds over the years and I have long term "I'd love to have one day" list of chicken breeds. And maybe a shorter term "let's try these out this year or next". And some "I want those again" breeds. And also a "no way, never again" list. I...

Three Broody Hens mixing and sharing clutches.

How is it working out? I've had two broodies with chicks and they treated the other chicks as enemies so I wouldn't raise two broods together again.

    Broody hen from non-broody breed

I had a red sex link hen who was a great broody and a Polish hen, neither of which should be broody breeds. Also, all the Polish I have had lay like billyo, contrary to what people often think. They are excellent layers.
