I recently noticed hundreds of small 0.5-1mm wide (or there abouts) bugs with a reddy-black colour in the coop. We took out the bedding, disposed of it and drenched the coop in a chicken mite killer solution. We then did the same three days later. No sign of the mites 4 days after that and then...
Hello! I have 4 hens. I have known for a while that one hen is a bully and picks feathers out of other hens. I've now separated her and yet have the dilemma that one of the 3 hens together is bullying the two other bullied hens. I've put the two bullies in for now.....but the original bully is...
I've just force fed her with a syringe. Both sugar water and mashed up layers pellets. I tried multiple times to do as described by you but she simply doesn't want to. She occasionally eats about 5g of pellets, but she's only done this twice today.
She can definately see. Just tested. She went out the door to explore a bit, and when I put her back in she stood back in her bed. She just doesn't want to eat. I'm going to syringe feed her a sugar water solution.
No she can definately see. Eyes look normal, when I opened the shed this morning she was desperate to get out. I will check with a light though! Thanks.

Haha I persuaded my parents to let me get hens...we ended up picking up some bats, their transformation has been incredible! But yes they seem to be enjoying their retirement.
I washed out a shampoo bottle and drilled some small holes in it. Fill it with mixed maize and watch them go to town scratching and kicking it to get the corn and wheat out! (nice run BTW what is the flooring)?
In fact (sorry for the double comment) if you have a friendly sherrif/police department, ring up the department and ask them what laws the children are breaking exactly. Install a video camera, take the video camera and the list of offenses to the father and basically just tell him to tell his...
