Thanks. Yes, you are correct. They do and are being treated. Nasty mites have taken over my whole flock of 100+ birds, so it's a time consuming challenge, as I'm currently living a mile away while we build on site.
These are 3 Easter Eggers I bought as day olds in Sep, now 7 months old. I bought 5 but 2 didn't make it. I'm thinking they are all roosters, but I'm not familiar with how EE are supposed to look. Should I be looking for some EE hens to keep my kids happy... They're super excited for colourful eggs.
Thanks Lilith37, we are using a regenerative aloe gel on the wound. Unfortunately the chicken coop is currently a mile away from where I'm staying (we recently had a lot of flood damage) and the chick is living in my bedroom as my cat would love to make a meal of it. It does get lonely but...
I have a 4-5 week old chick who had a horrific injury about a week ago. A lot of skin and feathers went missing and it's back and tail were a bloody mess. No idea what happened but we cleaned and sprayed it with terramycin and have had the chick in my bedroom ever since. A week later the chick...

I had my favorite red momma hen choke to death on frog when it got stuck in her throat. Unfortunately I wasn't around that day so didn't see it happen and couldn't save her. But there was a good sized frog firmly stuck in there!
We've got a nice little flock of 20 mixed breed chickens that have the same father and 2 different mothers, the older brood is now a year old and been doing very well. Started laying at about 24 weeks. The younger brood just recently started laying about 6 - 8 weeks ago and I seem to have 3-4...
