Help please - possible vent prolapse?!

Yeah dog crate was my plan - but the weather today is miserable and I don't want her getting soggy as the only place I can put the crate isn't well covered and then putting a tarp over her would defeat the purpose haha. I was more concerned about the daylight and her potentially trying to lay...

Hello Found one of my girls with a mucky looking butt yesterday morning, had a meeting and planned to clean her up on lunch. When I came back out I could see some fresh blood. Separated her for an Epsom salt soak and really struggled to clean off the white liquid, once I did it looks as if...

Help! Feathers won't grow back...winter is coming!

I had a feather pecking saga in July between my 6 girls whilst they were left in their small run by my neighbour when we were on Holiday for a week. Came back to very bare hens! I have 6 in total, 1 has fully grown all her feathers back in the space of 2 weeks as she was seperated due to an...

Mixing Smaller and Larger Breeds??? Yes or no?

Current girls are around a year old. Last time I intergrated 2 flocks together when I had rescues a few years back I split the run using heras fencing and used a large dog crate covered with a tarp and a roost bar fitted as a make shift coop for the newbies to allow a few days of seeing...

Mixing Smaller and Larger Breeds??? Yes or no?

Do you think so? When I check on my current girls at night they are all huddled up together in the corner and honestly don't even take up a quarter of the space in there. And seeing as the door opens on a daylight sensor they don't spend any daylight time locked in so I was thinking it's be...

Mixing Smaller and Larger Breeds??? Yes or no?

Ok good to know I have a nearly 200square ft run, and the omlet Cube with an auto door to let them out as soon as it's daylight currently just for 6 chickens, they also get out to free range the garden when I'm about to supervise the dogs roo so definitely plenty of space. Was just thinking of...

Mixing Smaller and Larger Breeds??? Yes or no?

Hi, I currently have 6 Hybrids and I am looking to expand my Flock. I really love some of the smaller breeds and was wondering if it's possible to have smaller breeds living along hybrids sharing the same coop/run (there is plenty of space) What's the opinions on this? Is it doable? Will...

Help/Advice on diagnosing my chicken. Egg bound/EYP/Vent gleet?!?

Yeah I'm starting to wonder if it's a bizarrely early moult, there were a lot of feathers lying about and the pecking has only really been causing bleeding since I've seen these new feathers coming in. This was her vent earlier before I cleaned her up.

Help/Advice on diagnosing my chicken. Egg bound/EYP/Vent gleet?!?

Also - sorry to jump on the back and ask another question here. All my chickens are sufferingfrom feather loss/bald butts/backs - I had put this down to feather pecking after they've been shut in the run for a while whilst I work on building them a safe area to roam following an attemped...

Help/Advice on diagnosing my chicken. Egg bound/EYP/Vent gleet?!?

Hello, we got her at POL in April - so around a year old? (My maths is awful) Yes I am in the UK - I'll look into these. Up until the vent pecking incident she had laid daily no issues. It was the next morning after beibg seperated that she was struggling - I was assuming down to either...
