Hi All,
I have a bird that I belive was pecked in the eye.
We've cleaned it out, she can open it if she wants but only part way.
We have quarantined her for the time being as we noticed that she was a little slow and stand off ish.
I've read that terramyacin is good, but I can't seem to...
I think I'm gunna have to do some butt checking, because both squat and I've seen both be mated by my roo. And they both have so nice combs/wattles.
My husband is gunna love me! Lol
I also thought that maybe she started and her toner has yet to fill up! Lol.
Her sister just started laying as well, both late bloomers, and ya they are 11months old.
It's so weird!
Thanks for this, I'll check it out!
See my initial thought was it was from my orpington given the colour.
But then I got 2 in one day, and I was like cool and in my brain it made sense one was smaller.
But then it happened again, and again and now I'm not sure.
These are my orpington eggs.
I should also mention the lady that we got them from is incredible reputable and take care of her breed lines.
My other chickens are from her and do what they need to.
I have 2 pure golden crele legbars.
They are supposed to lay blue eggs.
One does.
The other I'm not sure. They will be 1 beginning of April and given the small size of the one in question I think she just started laying, but it's almost white.
I have a picture of what they should look like, and...

Caught one in the act this morning.
She eventually lowered her bum and I got the egg and no crack.
This is what we have for now. It has a solid bottom. And they do lay down in there they just move when they drop their eggs.
I have also moved the box to every corner that they lay in, and they...
I have done that.
They lay anywhere but in it....
These are them. I think thw white one is a leghorn/legbar cross of some sort not sure of the other one.
I got 2 new to me laying hens a week ago.
They are quarantining in a seperate coop, that's all good.
My issue is. One of or both if them have started eating the eggs they lay, but only the broken ones.
They also have never laid in a box. At their old house their box was above the floor...
Thanks for your reply.
My MIL lives in a different city so there has been zero contact of any kind.
She has some chicken experience from eons ago and can see they are healthy as far as looks go. Prior to my getting birds I have been to his property and see the way he raises his chickens and...
I've searched a bit and I cant seem to find ideas on HOW people quarantine.
We are getting 2 new laying chickens to integrate with my own.
I currently have 12.
They are coming from a group of 5 from my MIL neighbor.
We will be quarantining.
What I plan on putting them(large dog crate) in...
His crow has come along way in a few weeks (started at 8 weeks, and is now 12 weeks) and I noticed yesterday that he started to have thus weird exhale/release of extra breath after he's done crowing?
First rooster, is that normal(ish)?
I always thought people were crazy, but I totally get it and now it's my turn!
At least 5 weeks old could be a smidge older.
