A 6 week old chick, with an upside-down head?!?

Today he’s been much worse. I’ve been giving them a chick starter / duck egg mixture and nothing helps. His head is now completely upside down and he has these “episodes” where he falls over backwards and can’t seem to figure out how to move around and stand back up. We might have to put him...

A 6 week old chick, with an upside-down head?!?

A 6 week old chick, with an upside-down head?!?

So I have this little Aruacana chick, I think is a rooster (let me know if I’m wrong) and he has his head slowly going upside down. The only times his neck and head are straight and normal is when he is drinking water. Besides that it’s sideways. I’m quite sure that it will go completely...

Saxony ducklings - Different colours at birth

Saxony ducklings - Different colours at birth

Yes, pretty crazy. I’ll have a look and see if I do have any other pics. Both we kept are boys. The one that was darker at birth is identical to the other, but has a darker chest, almost all dark brown, whereas the other has some white. It’s pretty weird!

Okay, thank you. Do you think I would get more variety and pure colours if I kept the Gold laced, or the Splash laced rooster?

Here “splash laced red” wyandottes look just like that hen, and it’s very rare to see a gold laced that isn’t gold laced black or blue. I have added a pic of my Gold Laced Black roo, in the pic is also a Barnevelder and a Silver laced black.

I’m in Australia. I would say our chickens would be the the same as the UKs

These are the hens with the “buff” rooster, I can try and get some pics of the splash roo, but he looks identical to the splash hen, but with orange saddle and neck feathers, he is beautiful, and has perfect laces.

I have decided too keep two roosters. The “Buff” Laced, and a splash laced red. The buff is related too two of the hens and the splash is related too one hen. Is this a problem for future breeding? So the roosters are related to 3/10 hens. And what could I get if I put a splash rooster over...

I have a buff laced Wyandotte rooster, I have heard some people talk about how that isn’t a true colour. People have said that he is a Blue Laced Red, he looks more like a BLR, he’s dark in colour. Okay, okay… enough rambling about my rooster. His hens are silver laced (both black and blue)...

My ducklings can easily get in and out without steps. Do whatever you think is necessary for your ducks

    Pullet or cockerel

Sorry just read back and I meant “Cochin” not “Pekin”, I’m afraid that it is a cockerel. But this happens more than people expect, getting boys instead of sexed girls. I once bought females and got 4 boys out of 8
