I have sleep apnea too and have not been able to sleep with my machine. My mask goes over my nose only, so since I can hardly breathe through my nose need a different style. My father and I are both going for a new sleep study next Wednesday night. Woohoo.

Have you considered using some tinted film? Not sure how well it would hold up or cost, but might be an option.

You "might" want to post your plans and photos in the Coop section as a new topic "CapricornFarm's coop build". I sorta locked myself in once, but after some jiggling and banging on the door it finally opened. It's one of those hasps that has a rotating loop thing. I now make sure I put the...

I feel your pain. I always have a few that thin the grass is greener on the other side. OK, I was confused. I kept wondering why you referred to it as a shed. Duh! :he

I asked about the auto pop door closer on another thread. I kept wondering why it was such a wanted item. Now I understand. I had been leaving the pop door open and just shutting coop and pen exterior doors at night. Now I have to go out and close it. If I'm late I have to do it in the dark when...

Looking great Jim -- I really like those metal roofs. Are those smaller rectangular areas above the windows for vents? It sounds as though the pup is healing nicely and on the mend. I don't recall if the pups were born to another dog you own or if you bought them, but wondering if you plan to...

That looks really nice. I don't know anything about silkies, but if they don't roost I would think you might want a platform to get them off the ground a little. It snows where you live? Just thinking they might be colder on the ground than up a smidge. Sorry about your pups. What kind are...

Is the coop large enough that they can stay in it for a least a couple of days? That will ensure that they know that's home and should return there to nest. I would suggest closing the other coop for now.

My EE chickens seemed to change tremendously at around 3 or 4 months of age. The others didn't change a lot, but they are all solid colors.

I wonder if you could use those heavy plastic tent stakes -- just put them deep in the ground. Eventually the dirt will compact and grass will grow over the area.

When I was little, a farmer down the road from my grandpa had this big white billy goat that had a real long beard. I always liked that goat. Have no idea what kind it was. I would love to have goats, but only if they could free range. There are far too many things to climb on out to have them...

I had to take my truck to the dealer in a nearby town yesterday (recall) and I planned to go to the Habitat Re-Store there. I ended up poking around Hobby Lobby and forgot all about it. :he The one I got says it does up to 3" branches. Wish it would do bigger stuff, but I'm sure that would be...

I found out what it is, Bush Honeysuckle. Now that I see that, yes, the one just behind the house did have honeysuckle flowers, but I forgot about that. https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/bush-honeysuckles They are calling it a noxious invasive weed. Lol, it is far better...

Can't wait to see that coop when you get finished with it. I had a mulching kit added to my mower so that I could better chop up all the small branches and stuff, but I found that it's do near as good a job when the grass/weeds started to get tall, and real bad if it was damp. I had to have it...

I hear you on trying to grow grass. I had some basement anchors put in last winter and there are still some grassless areas around the house. Actually, I shouldn't really call it grass -- it's mostly a mix of grass, weeds, clover, etc. Thank you for that Tigger! I have been wondering what these...
