Wow, got a few pre-winter chores done. The kids helped run the wheel barrel so we got all 4 layer coops, the duck coop and one of the grow outs mucked out. I was able to spray the coops while they were empty and dust for mites. Freshly stuffed nesting boxes, and fresh hay on the floor. Stiff...

Yes we built my 2 "big coops" in 2017... same basic design just 10x10 instead of 8x12, we used 2x6's for the floor and roof frame with those. Its interesting that you would state the 2x4's are light? It seems like most sheds I have paid attention to look like they have 2x4's most places? Maybe...

Got started on my "last " coop today. Gathered up some rough 2x8's and the external kennel panels. Got the "foundation " laid doesnt look bad the plan is a 8x12 lean to style to match my other 2 coops. It will be divided inside into 3 separate spaces each with it's own fully enclosed run. This...

    Helpful hints for building coops

I am sorry. It is never easy deciding what to do when our loved ones need more care. Doesn't always make everyone happy either but I have seen that few want to step up and take on the extra work of keeping them at home but fully expect another person to..... be it a child or sibling.
