Got a great welcome present today!! 11am and 18eggs in 1 nesting box with 2 big black Aussies laying in there.
Yesterday was 13, farm boy said looked like several were crushed and gone (multiple brown colors on different eggs, stuck with yolk)
Feels good to be home but it's an adjustment as it...
awww I'd love to depending on breeds, but we had a rooster from April to Nov then had to give him away. Started being very aggressive and nearly killed several girls (pecking eyes). So we can't do anymore for now. Thank you though. I'd love to have been able to do that idea.
According to the farm boy and hubby, we've gotten average of 20eggs a day all week. Hubby thought 1 or 2 were ceramic so he lost those. He laid out and cleaned eggs that needed it, also sold 2 dozen to our hospital customer!
I'm just very impressed how much he is taking over the chickadee duties...
lol I finally found an awesome app to help keep track but I found pages on pininterest that we write every day.
Certification so we can sell at markets, more public places and some stores.
Still working on good numbers here. No 26 yet but keeping up there from 19-24
120 for the week and
155 for the month
Selling about 10 dozen or so a week. Always have carry over eggs it seems. Can't wait to get certification
Our largest amount to date!!
24 eggs today which means only 2 girls didn't lay.
(Sorry haven't been on much, dialysis is taking it's toll on son)
NO eaten eggs for 2 wks! Numbers have been around 19.
What is going on with these numbers???
We've been lowering with days getting longer then gaining in numbers?? We've even been down to 10 again:/
Don't these girls know Easter is coming? LMBO
awww thank you so very much my friend. Dialysis has been going strong for a week. It completely exhausts him. But only 2.5 week left then we can do it at home. He flat lined Thursday but came to, took a couple days to finally get back to almost normal. We are praying transplant in the future...
Our girls are slacking! Lol not bad. They were up to 22 but yesterday we got 16. Still fighting this egg cracking crud:/ going to be a real test for next 4 wks as we are gone 5+ hrs a day for dialysis training.
Son is stage 5 CKD so that's the only option now but we have to train before...
thank you so much! Silvers eggs are lighter than Golden Wyandotte but darker than Buff Orpington.
SLW started laying Jan 13 and 6 Feb the first 2. We got them as pullets from Meyers @ 16-20wks old (16 November). Seems as though they are the later layer group, Golden Laced Wyandotte is the same...
I like that idea and have seen it. Hubs not sure about it though. We are trying to stop it and if I find out who, they are gone.
That's awesone about your sale:) we love selling that many at once.
Are you doing alright?
definitely not weak or softer shells, broken eggs by hens. One possible was this morning, pullet laid out of box and all I saw was wetness and sticky. Nothing to prove if egg or not.
However, there are plenty of nesting boxes, they only use 3 of the available 7. Great at taking turns.
