    I stuck a bulb in a pot in the house. It grew but got pretty flimsy. I probably kept it too wet and it died back. I stuck the pot out in the greenhouse. By spring it had come back up and I moved it to the garden. It even survived me hoeing most of it off.

    They try to claim I am zone 5. Normal years it gets to -30⁰F. Last year it was -40⁰F. I pick items for zone 3. Some zone 4 things will survive but nothing from zone 5 will survive the normal winters.

    The weight isn't the problem, pumpkins are awkward to get a good hold. I did manage to lift it without any help.

    I did completely lose one of the traps. It just disappeared. My guess is that a coon stuck its paw in it and set it off.
