I've only had food poisoning one time. I never, ever, want that again. And x2 on the milk. I don't drink it at all. My dad would drink the "chunky & slightly off" milk. 🤢

We always thought my dad would live forever. He'd put leftover fish in the oven and then eat it the next day. Same with any meat. He scraped mold off old cheese and ate it. He drank expired milk. The man would consume anything.

My daughter puts it in stir fry. I didn't think it had much flavor at all. My chickens eat the heck out of it. We have another weed that grows in sandy soil and looks a little like purslane. It has very shallow roots. The chickens won't eat that one.

No. I looked up sorrel on Google. We called it sourweed. We used to pick it and chew it. We didn't even wash it. I wonder how many nasty germs I consumed as a child?

We ate bull nettle seeds when we were kids. They were great, but a pain to get to, and not many per nettle. And of course, all that chewing tobacco, that my grandpa spit on our stings, was such a waste.🤣

What kind of nettle is this? We have a lot of Milk Thistle and occasionally see Bull nettle (stinging nettle) out by the highway, but 1st time seeing a yellow nettle around here.

We have purslane too. My daughter picks some when she visits, and uses it in salads. She also gathers wild carrot and wild onions. I'm sure she will want some pigweed. I wonder is it is what we call Sourweed? We used to chew that as kids. If it wasn't too mature, it had a sweet taste, not a...

Thanks! It sounds like a good beneficial weed. I don't know if we have that, but I'm going to ask my daughter about it.

We have burdock. I've never heard of pigweed. I googled it, but didn't find any good images. Do you have a picture? Enjoy your rain.

I really was terrified of those things. We were way out in the country. Our church had an outhouse, and I would have peed my pants before I trapsied out that way by choice! I was the child who was always in trouble. Every time one rolled inside and down the aisles, I started screaming bloody...
