Yes, typing it out helped me get some perspective on just how much it was! The only thing on today's schedule is picking blueberries at my parents' and grocery shopping. Well, there's the usual keeping all the voracious velociraptors around here fed. I am not sure if I am talking about the...
I am trying to catch up but I am still 30 pages behind. Apparently it's been over a week since I logged in last. It has been an eventful week. I have been dealing with deaths, finishing the chicken coop, getting my house clean enough for a realtor to see it, figuring out if the public...
I am sure Ned is a rooster!
That storm is heading my way right now. I am hoping it will have weakened quite a bit by the time it gets this far north. I'm glad to hear that your chickens got through it well.
I am loving all the green legs!
We hope to get the coop done this weekend. The hardware cloth I didn't think would get here until the end of next week showed up yesterday!
Just in time as we are on chicken watch. We may need to separate her from the rest. One of the Barred Rocks has...
I think COVID has had a lot of people working extra without pay. My husband works in Healthcare IT and was getting programming in for hospitals to track cases. It was done knowing it wasn't going to be paid for and there was even a paycut for a little while. There is value in doing things for...
Progress! The coop build was delayed and delayed because my order for the roofing from a big box store kept getting messed around with and never came. Finally I cancelled it when I found out a local company had it in stock! They delivered it the next day. That'll teach me to stick to local...

I am so glad to hear that...
Good morning Bob and everyone!
Oh, at 1:06 Sydney does the beak wiping thing that was the first thing I noticed our chicks doing. I assume it's normal but haven't been concerned enough to look it up. This morning's thing to look up was seeing a bit of pink push out poop. It went back in...
@RoyalChick that's so cute! Between you and @BY Bob I may have to invest in a Coop Cam sooner rather than later!
Yesterday, I promised I would make the kids donuts for breakfast this morning. Alas, despite 6 guineas and 11 chicks, we have no eggs in the house! LOL
I just caught up on all the fluffy butts of the last few days! So Barred Rocks are known for going broody, huh? Oh oh!
I went to Tractor Supply and got some pullets (left) since I didn't think the hatch of five was going to quite do it for our family of four. They only had Barred Rocks...
