It’s amazing what they can adapt to. I have 2 ducks blind In one eye and I can watch them and how they have adapted to only being able to see out of one eye. It’s not causing problems walking but they have had to adapt.

When my chickens are broody I candle any time i want they are very compliant . Once in a while I'll get a peck on the hand but nothing serious.

Are you close to a veterinary school? Sometimes they will do surgeries etc for training purposes. The price would most likely be more reasonible.

They make neoprene shoes for geese too. I wonder if that would help to protect the skin and maybe help him walk better? It wouldn't be bulky. I have them for my chickens and my ducks I should buy a pair for Missy in case I ever needed them.

I love your avatar ❤️ Ever thought Trudy might accept Jellybean and Noodle too? Missy took over 2 Runner drakes after mama Muscovy set them free. She still knows the one Runner drake is hers and he still likes to hang with her.

If your worried about being squished you could always make 2 sides in your brooder for night time that way you can sleep without worry and they can still see each other?
