Not so much for water deflection, having the wood raised a little from the concrete as your builders have done will help prevent the post bases from rotting. I was thinking more of something to hide that gap.

Are you planning to put a skirt of some sort around the base of the uprights where they join the concrete floor?

I think I can help you out here. It's a bit like modern text speak. It says what writing doesn't explain. You must have got him off the keyboard before he could finish the sentence.

I would have moved the ramp so it attaches to the corner at the same height as the deck. She would have a straight walk along the deck and straight on to the ramp without having to make that sdways step downward which is what seems to be the problem.

Have you thought about moving the ramp so that step at the top is gone. She doesn't look at all confident about the first step. SHRA,:rolleyes:
