I'm this close to being done with my latch hook! I always work them 'backwards' so when I'm done getting all the knots in place I have to go through and flip them all the right way. Which isn't so bad, except on this one I have, let's see...17,864 knots. :D -

I kinda work backwards with hair, I block in most of it with the base color, then go over it with progressively lighter strands, and finish up by doing highlights and darkest shadows. -

Right now I'm using FireAlpaca, because I got fed up with Photoshop/Adobe's nonsense. It's very similar to Photoshop so it was a pretty easy transition, but I'm still learning. I also used PaintShop Pro many years ago but I never got very proficient with it. -
