    Any artists out there?

Currently I'm working on latch hook 'tapestry' number 2. Finally finished the first one (an Archaeopteryx skeleton) earlier this year, and now I'm starting on a copper betta. It's 60" wide and not quite that tall. Help.

And I need to learn that it's okay to press hard when drawing! I scribble way too lightly. :p Nice horse, good job with the texturing!

    Any artists out there?

Since I just finished another one today, here's a few of the little sketch-doodles I've done for a story I'm posting on my blog. It's a fantasy story about a werewolf girl who has magical healing skills and the nameless plague doctor who mentors her. It's kinda a side story to my larger novel in...

    Any artists out there?

Working on my painting and I used to be able to whip out a landscape in acrylic (or digitally, for that matter) in about five minutes flat. Four days later and I STILL can't get the clouds to look like clouds. I think I'm just going to paint over the entire sky again with blue and start over...

Well I finished the giant latch hook. Gave myself an absolutely raging migraine because I didn't pace myself. I feel better now, need to find a rod to hang the thing from so I can get a decent picture. In the mean time, it's back to the painting project I had wanted to work on last year. I...

    Any artists out there?

Just realized I don't think I ever posted my wall dragon from last year. So there's this little alcove in the half-wall that divides my foyer from my kitchen and I had some of my flashier rock and fossil specimens hanging out on the shelf but it just looked boring. So I painted a dragon in the...

    Any artists out there?

I'm this close to being done with my latch hook! I always work them 'backwards' so when I'm done getting all the knots in place I have to go through and flip them all the right way. Which isn't so bad, except on this one I have, let's see...17,864 knots. :D

I kinda work backwards with hair, I block in most of it with the base color, then go over it with progressively lighter strands, and finish up by doing highlights and darkest shadows.

I'm learning FireAlpaca myself. I used Photoshop since forever, but ever since Adobe pulled their latest BS with subscriptions and deciding that older version of PS are 'illegal' for people to own (even if you paid for them), I said good riddance and went with Fire Alpaca. It's another free...

    Any artists out there?

Earlier this year I painted a little alcove in the wall near my kitchen - a dragon in a cave, since I had some rock specimens displayed on the shelf I thought it'd fit. Put some UV-reactive paint on it too, and a blacklight of course. Just recently finished a giant latch hook. Well. Finished...

    Any artists out there?

Right now I'm using FireAlpaca, because I got fed up with Photoshop/Adobe's nonsense. It's very similar to Photoshop so it was a pretty easy transition, but I'm still learning. I also used PaintShop Pro many years ago but I never got very proficient with it.

    Any artists out there?

Yeah I know, I've been around online art sites long enough to be well aware of what Artfight is. I've never had the time or energy to do it myself. I've only managed to do NaNoMango once (the comics equivalent of NaNoWriMo) and one Pokemon comic tournament (which I only got to the third round...

@black_cat My laptop (which I do my art on) has a touchscreen and I bought a stylus for it but it definitely doesn't work like I'd like it to :). So I don't even bother. @CyndieRauls That is really neat! So bright! And lol my sister and I used to do 'art fights' like that. Though we were a bit...

    Any artists out there?

@Sarah12987 ugh me too. Faces are so hard. This is why I usually stick with animals :p. Though I did decide to torture myself and start sketching a second character from the same story as the magic cat. I think I've deleted the original pencil sketch layer by this point, but all the other layers...

    Any artists out there?

I love painting but it's something I just don't have the time or space to do. The last time I brought a painting home from college to dry, my cat walked all over it. I started with acrylic and overall I like it better, but I did one oil painting class and while I'm not in love with oils, at...

I do art now and then! Here's some of my latest: Art of a character from my fantasy novel. He's a magic-wielding cat. A character from the same setting as the cat. He's a magic-wielding priest who is um a bit crazy. I like to doodle in paper margins. Here's a little hyena gargoyle creature.
