They grow really well here, they're one of my faves! In fact, I don't know that there's many gourds we can't grow here.
I love growing them and then putting slices into soaps.
You could make it all edible, tons of edible flowers and exotic looking vining plants do well out here. Some are really fun, like flowers that turn your lemonade purple or gourds that grow three feet long.
Ikr😂
I hope the durn thing doesn't freeze and fall off. I might have to hook up a couple heat lamps in the coop and run just to be safe.
Yeah his tail is full of white, and there's white sprinkled throughout the rest of him. His brother had a bit of white as well.
Yeah, she told me to just...
Look Colt I finally have an English orp😃. He's just for keeping with my mutts, not breeding, and I picked the uglier of the two because I didn't want to take a good roo from someone who wants to breed pure orps, but he's still nice and fat.
I don't like those.
Mine are Pyrenees Anatolian mixes, but if I had it to do over I would've looked harder for Anatolian, Akbash, Karakachan, or Turkish Kangal.
Pyrenees are so poorly bred, and usually very unhealthy. And when looking at footage of them guarding you rarely see them jump in to...
Yeah she's super chill 80% of the time. Not when there's coyotes around tho, she stays up all night barking and snarling with her equally huge and even more aggro sister. I've never had a loss to coyotes, but my neighbors have lost every single animal they've owned.
You need one of these. They're the biggest potatoes you ever did see, but should something, or someone, try to touch you or your animals she would go into beast mode and rip their kidneys out via their toes🙂
Your poor cockerel, all cuteness and no brains🤣
If she's tranqued first she'll be easier to shoot, and the worst case scenario would be that the cow might get a little extra sleepy🤷🏻♀️
I'm so glad I don't have anything bigger than jaguarundis and coons coming up close. The coyotes and big cats...
Yep.
They're actually kinda pretty imao. Not my favorite breed, but these ladies are easy on the eyes, not skinny or washed out, plumpy and brilliantly orange with great sheen, they're not as floofy as an English Orp but they aren't vaccum sealed in bland feathers either. They'll just be part of...
Pens and some tweaking of the old duck barn.
It needs more ventilation and a bolstering of one leg before I get more chickens. But besides those two things I love it for my birds, it's always warm in the cold months so my birds haven't ever had frostbite.
The side of it is great for keeping...
I'm so excited to have some fatties, they're gorgeous😄
I'm loving your splash, laced, red and mottled ones😍
The calls and geese are tempting as well😂
Infrastructure first tho😢
Suit yourself
I should probably add that I have lost ZERO birds (free ranging) since having the bottomless pits, but I won't. 🙂
You really are making a wise decision by not having them though, they need a proper fence.
