I have a batch hatching this coming Saturday ...... not sure if thats gonna be the last or not.... still getting eggs.
Really don't want many more to feed over winter
2 brown and 4 cuckoo Leghorns in there I think... BCs were first to hatch so they are fluffier... got them all out before work this morning cos they were kicking goals with the eggs that hadn't hatched yet
I have once before had a black chick hatched that had a sort of mottled breast. Can't remember if it was from this group or not... ill see if I can dig up a pic
Found it.... this one came out of a black rooster.... so not the same line as my birds now
That was my first thought..... but I don't have any mottled birds....
To show mottling do they need to have the gene from both parents? Or can they show it with 1 gene?
