You stab it in the ground and throw some cat food in it. When they reach in it sets off holding their leg in it. So ya they're alive and pissed off when you get to them.
Feed em, water em, heat em, clean up after em, move em around, mitch & boan about them over the winter then next spring I'll use them to repeat the process.

Next 3 are in the big incubator and I found it unplugged the other day. Estimating it had been for 6 hours. That may affect those hatches.
