    NY has paper bags only (except for bagging individual fresh produce). So it’s either cardboard bags or bring your own. I have a bout 20 reusable bags I bought when the law changed and they were marked 2/$1. Just keep a pile in each trunk and one hanging by the door for whenever we go shopping.

    Cut up and use for poultices, old rags to clean with, or make quilts/pillowcases out of. They are also good to cover plants for a frost warning overnight.

    I did not read all the way through, but I just took a class to make soap out of rendered lard! So I’ve been rendering lard for a few weekends now, and the dogs get the benefit of any leftover rinds. Feels good to use something that is normally considered waste.
