That is so smart I’m going to have to do that.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

First of all a warning: it can be an odd transition to make. But so worth it. Get the hair wet and rub bar from hairline down the hair lengthwise. I do one swipe from ear to ear down the back of my head. About 5 in total. It lathers like liquid. I suggest buying two different bars the first...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Put the slivers into a tiny mesh bag (mine have come from buying jewelry). Works great and helps the lather!

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

About 5 years ago I switched to bar shampoo and I love it. It lasts longer than liquid (just like bar hand soaps) and works perfectly. Plus no plastic at all if you buy from a company like Lush. It’s more expensive, but the “plastic” and packing peanuts in the packaging are compostable veggie...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

That’s why I love the rabbit compost. Cold compost I just put it right under growing trees and berry bushes and things right out of the litter boxes. I use spent hay as bedding.

They do love them and loved them last year in the compost pile!

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

No more spending money on decorative gourds! I smashed our purchased ones in the compost pile last year and continued to put my rabbitry waste there and…well… this is about 75% of them.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

While I don’t have a perfect solution, I’ve had issues sealing my seeds in plastics boxes in the past. As I use them and put them back while planting they get wet and mold in airtight containers. It depends on how you use them and if you always use the whole bag and don’t get them damp outside.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

My blackberries and cherry tomatoes are coming in and I get to use my stashed “disposable” grocery store plastic berry containers for them for the umpteenth year in a row 🥰 Youcant recycle them but you can reuse them! ♻️

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

It’s common in my village (very small ohio “town”) to have garage sales that are actually just all free stuff. It helps people to cut down on anything accidentally collected too much haha. I just got a cute little vintage gravy boat last month from a “garage free”. 😊

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I wish I could! I have to use an electric one and special toothpaste for my specific dental health. I would like to know specifically what Walmart is doing with the plastics. So much that is “recycled” is just thrown out. I wonder if they publish their exact recycling programs.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I don’t know what it is - differnt fabrics or something?- but I really don’t have many clothes that require ironing anymore. I don’t just walk around wrinkled either. I don’t know.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Very interesting. Thanks for the info. It does seem odd that huge resorts with fountains keep popping up in the desert where the locals already struggle.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I have always been very interested in the south west water wars. I’ve read that California is basically stealing water from Arizona, Nevada, etc. is that true?

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Unfortunately, we are not doing better (see current cite). ☹️ Individuals can’t fix what corporations and governments broke, but I still try to lower my footprint. It’s futile, but it makes me feel better...

Hubby and I also generally do our own laundry. I never know which of his clothes needs to be dried, etc. We use Drops laundry detergent, which is plastic free all the way, and dryer lint balls. I like to line dry when I can, but we live in one of the windiest places on Earth, so it's not...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Off topic - I just got my first egg of spring today! My white french marans. Which is surprising because she’s 4 and I have some younger ladies. But I’m not complaining! Yay! Now I can feel more sustainable with home grown eggs again :)

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Here’s an article on it from when it began. Now it’s just a mundane reality. Nearly every city in the us takes the recycling and eventually has to throw it into a landfill. It’s very sad. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2019/03/china-has-stopped-accepting-our-trash/584131/
