My GS (whom I raised since age 6, he is 18 now) is convinced he is not on the spectrum but he was dx'd in 2nd grade or so. He is only mildly so, or maybe I should say high-functioning? Plus very bright, but ... I do see it sometimes. He seems socially young to me. He really hates me talking...
But you're awesome on here! I don't "follow" anybody, but I do pay attention, and you do give good, thoughtful, helpful answers! You are an asset to the community and if you are super sensitive, i've never seen any evidence of it here. :hugs

I kinda want to say Congratulations ... on getting your dx. I remember when I got mine, for Bipolar. This was in the Dark Ages, though, I probably have additional issues like ADD and OCD. I was in my 40s at the time and am in my 70s now. But ... isn't it a RELIEF knowing there is a NAME...
DH sometimes uses the tv remote as a fidget and that is so not a good plan! Sometimes he uses a water bottle too - one from the store, and those things are VERY noisy. 😄
Can we get a picture of these please? My DH and also The Kid (grandson we are raising) are both on the spectrum, and the more I read and learn the more I am beginning to suspect/ realize that I probably am too (it explains SOOO much!). Probably why DH and I get along so perfectly together, ha!
Oh yes, smells are a big time issue. My DH does not have a sensitive sniffer and bought some Irish Spring soap, which I find highly offensive. I bought him another brand!
I am of a generation in which nobody ever got diagnosed with anything but I always felt a bit different and out of step and now wonder if I am not "on the spectrum" myself, it would explain so much. I am, for example, very sensitive to tactile sensations, so much so that I wear gloves when...
