Not yet...I have to unfortunately take my entire run roof off and reconfigure it. I made a tactical error when I built it and now I'm paying for it so this fall/winter I will be removing the roof and reinstalling correctly....at that time I can probably put some sort of awning on. Until then...
Interesting...Guess I could put the screen on the wall of my run between the light and the new window. I have a bunch so I could experiment with it to see what works.
Yes...I bought an entire roll at a yard sale for a couple of bucks. Figure it would block a little bit of light since it's black over top of the hardware cloth.
I have this one on the outside blowing into the coop...so it won't get clogged up with feathers. Also I have some black screen so maybe I'll put that over the hardware cloth to help with the ambient light?
Fortunately it's not one of those real high powered bright ones...just a small LED one on a lightpole in the backyard. We live in the boonies so it's DARK at night. LOL
I've been running a fan at night in the window of the coop and it keeps it better than without it but I think it's best to cut another window for the times when I'm not here to put the fan in before their bedtime. They stay out free ranging all day and always find the coolest spot....usually...
