    Pockets used to be their own clothing item, worn under skirts. There was a slit in the skirt and you reached through it to access the pockets. The pockets were big and useful. Sort of the 18th century version of a double fanny pack.

    Oh the no pockets/fake pockets thing kills me. So many of us complain it's a wonder they haven't stopped doing it. It wasn't so long ago that clothes were made to fit you instead of the other way around. Almost no one has an off-the-rack body.
