The Walmart nearest me still has some human cashiers. The line is always longer here. Not as many use the self check outs. I do not as I feel like they take someone's job.
They still take personal checks here.
I guess I'm still old school. I pay for almost everything by check. Gas, groceries, bills almost everything. Small town makes that easier. Occasionally I shop out of town, I use cash. I do use my debit card at the ATM.
I suppose I am a dinosaur.
I once had a job keeping such paper ledgers. Was an easy job, I knew almost everyone in my small town.
When they tried to promote me to collections, I put in my notice. I did not want to do that so I found a new job as fast as I could.
Now everyone wants to work M-F, 9-5. There are not many mechanics working on tractors, cars, etc until the job is done. 5pm they go home.
Warranties for repairs have really went down hill. I had a covered washing machine repair needed. Took 2 weeks to get it done. Ridiculous.
Never been to Gillies' but have also a fan of Mickey Gilley. Have several CD's and there is probably some cassettes around here too.
I'll bet you had a blast on that trip!
I've always been a Waylon fan! Just this week I saw an ad for Whey Jennings. He is going to be at a semi-local venue soon. I listened to some of his stuff on youtube. He does have some of his Granddad's sound.
Not heard of this other fellow. He has a good voice too!
