I got some sweet potatoes planted and replanted the green beans.
Arugula and mustard are finally taking off in the greenhouse, and I planted the dill in there as well. I also got the winter door taken off and put in storage.
3 cattle panels, overlapped for a 12 ft total length. Zip ties hold the panels together.
When I bought this place I discovered I needed a railing for safety between the door and the stairs, but the railing blocked off part of the deck and made it essentially unusable. 7 feet wide, 12 feet...
Maybe this group would have some opinions about my second greenhouse.
This greenhouse is going to be more of a sprout house--no ground contact, it's built on top of an existing deck.
The house is to the East and there's a big tree to the West, so during the winter it will get full sun about...
I'm not planting any of my special seeds this year, except the tepary beans. Everything is boring "varieties" until I figure out the differences for growing in this area.
Clay vs sand, water levels, sun and heat differences, etc.
I did get boring sweet corn in the ground for a cold tolerance...
One of the first things I did when I landed here was build my first greenhouse. Unfortunately I haven't done much with it yet, because it keeps getting infested with chicks somehow.
That problem should be resolved now that my second coop is up. It has a built-in brooder.
